I love books, and like most parents we read every night to our children. It’s a time to focus on each other and unwind ready for the night. Phoebe in particular loves this ritual and I enjoy making the story come alive to her. Today I’m reviewing our personalised book from There I am Storybooks. You send them your favourite photo, the name you want and the story you’d like. You can add an optional message for the front page. We chose ‘My Driving Adventures’ and this cheeky photo to go in it!
What you get
What we got back was a 12 page story book with a different illustration on each page with the photo inserted. It’s a lovely story written in a rhyming verse style with the photo cleverly slotted in so your child becomes the central character. It looks like he is in the book! I’m so pleased with the results. I don’t want to ruin the story for you in case you get the same one, but here is a sample of the scenarios Daniel finds himself in his story:
He looks like he had a great time on his adventures and it’s tied up neatly at the end when he’s asleep in bed. I can see this book becoming a great keepsake for him and one we can read to him again and again. I’ve showed it to my older children who are 6 and 4 and they love it! They think it’s hilarious that Daniel is in the book.
Any Drawbacks?
The only drawback is that at the moment there’s just the one story which is slightly geared towards boys, although it would equally suit a girl. I can’t wait to see what other stories they come up with!
