Through the panic of Christmas buying there’s one thing that’s always popular on everyone’s list: books. I have a few earmarked for my children, in particular this one from one of my favourite authors, Rebecca Colby. The book follows Captain Bling and his merry crew as they set off to find treasure, but they get blown off course and end up at the North Pole. When they spy the elves carefully wrapping presents, the pirates think they have found the ultimate booty! They quickly steal the presents and make their way back to the ship. By the time Santa Claus catches up to them, the pirates are well on their way to escaping. But Santa has a surprise for Captain Bling and his crew!

Rebecca Colby enjoys travelling, new adventures and searching for treasure. Although she’s never plundered Santa’s workshop, she has been known to steal a Christmas cookie or two. Originally from the States, she crossed the sea many years ago and now lives in North Yorkshire.
