Welcoming a new baby into your home will always be a momentous occasion. After all, children change your life in one hundred different ways and will continue to do so as they grow. While this does mean that you’re going to have to settle into a no-sleep routine, you also deserve to celebrate the birth of your first baby.
With that in mind, here are five fun ways in which you can start celebrating!
Host a photoshoot.
Believe it or not, babies do not stay so tiny forever. In fact, it feels as though you only have to blink once before they are taking their first steps through your house – and seconds later, they’ll be heading off to school. As a result, one way you can celebrate your new arrival is by taking as many photos as possible. For example, you could set up your own baby photoshoot to take pictures of your little one alongside the rest of your friends and family. Once the photoshoot is complete, be sure to look into large photo printing so that you can display them proudly within your home or hand them out as gifts to your loved ones.

Start scrapbooking right away.
Putting together a baby scrapbook is another excellent way to celebrate the birth of your first child and will also make a wonderful keepsake to look back on. If you aren’t sure what to put in a baby scrapbook, the simple answer is anything and everything! From hospital tags to the various different baby scans to printed pictures – anything that you feel is important should be placed within your baby book. Not only are they a great way to make lasting memories, but they also ensure that you will have access to plenty of embarrassing pictures to show off to your kid’s friends when they visit in the future (Que the eye-rolling).
Host a baby shower.
Hosting a baby shower is another great way to celebrate the birth of your first child – as it encourages all of your friends, family, and loved ones to gather in the same place to help you prepare for your new arrival. Furthermore, as many guests like to bring gifts to baby showers, it can be a great way to ensure that you have access to all of the baby supplies you need ahead of time.
Create art with their hand and footprints.
As mentioned previously, babies grow far quicker than you could ever expect. As a result, you should ensure you make the most of the moments where they are tiny (and therefore much less likely to cause trouble). One way in which you can do this is by creating art with their hand and footprints. This concept is relatively simple – after all, you only need some paint and a piece of paper to create a work of art! If you want to track their growth in a unique way, you could repeat this activity once a month. If you fancy something a little different (and not quite as messy), you could also consider having a cast made of their feet or handprints.
Enjoy the little moments.
Bringing a new baby into the world is stressful from the word go. From the moment you find out, you begin spending hours preparing for a baby, attending appointments and ensuring you have their room decorated just right. Then, once they have arrived, you are swept off your feet with responsibilities. As a result, you might not always feel in the mood for celebrating – especially when the sleep deprivation kicks in, and coffee no longer seems to cut it. However, during this time, it’s important to enjoy and celebrate the little moments that come alongside having a child. The way they reach for your hand in the morning, or the smile on the face, the sound of their laugh. These special moments may only last a few seconds at a time, but they make the entire process worthwhile.
