The Perfect Dinner Party

Sometimes there is nothing as joyous as watching your friends and family eat food that you have lovingly created for them. There are some big events during the year like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, birthdays, and more we tend to get together. A dinner party doesn’t have to just be a random event, nor does it have to be a huge amount of work.

Here are a few tips that can help you create the perfect dinner party.

Theme

Go wild and set a theme for your party. You want to have your dinner guests excited and engaged before they’ve even walked through the door. Think about the excitement and anticipation of planning Halloween costumes or Christmas food. You can create that with your dinner party. Think of a theme or an occasion for your event and start by pouring this excitement into your invitations.

Allow your guests to take hold of the idea and run with it. For example, you could have an entire character set that people can choose from.

When planning your party decorations, consider incorporating some personalized items into the mix as well. This can be a great way to add a fun and festive touch, while also helping to set the mood for the evening. If you’re looking for a creative way to add personalization to your party decorations, consider making custom banners, signs, or inflatables. Banners can be made out of any type of fabric or paper, and you can get creative with the design. Signs can be made of cardboard or foam board, and you can write whatever you want on them. When it comes to inflatables you can choose from a variety of designs to fit your party’s specific style, or you can even create personalized inflatables on your own to add a personal touch to your party décor.

Blow up some of your guests’ favorite objects or characters of their favorite TV series on a large scale to fill the room. This will get everyone excited and add a fanciful touch to the party.

Who

Think about who you want to invite and think long and hard. That isn’t to say, but you shouldn’t invite Aunt Mabel, but think about the people around the table and the conversation possibilities.

Try and do some pairing and planning around the group dynamics. So what if you invite 4 couples and one single person? Would that be awkward? Or what if you invite the person that always gets into superheated political discussions, and you know there is no going back at some point?

In almost all cases, your friends are an extension of you. Even if they’re an extreme side. So try and mix and match packs of personalities.

And you should always make sure that you are aware of allergies and dietary restrictions of your friends too.

Space

You need to make sure that you have the ideal seating arrangement ready for your guests. TCH furniture probably has the ideal table and chairs for you. You need to consider where people are going to eat and then you are going to think about where they will go after they’ve eaten.

Will they sit at the table and enjoy pudding and coffee. What do you think they might like to move to a more comfortable room like the living room. Potentially if you have space, you can have an outside fire pit, which is warm cosy and work summer or winter.

Decor

Once you have identified all of the places in the house where people are going to sit down, it’s time to get decorating. Try to go as deeply into the theme as you can without being too kitsch. The dinner party should be much more about the guests than it is about you in your house, it’s about entertainment and really providing an experience.

Focus on the little details when it comes to the tablecloth, napkins, and the choice of colours that you use. You can even have the theme in the food too.

There are so many places that you can look for inspiration, Pinterest is great for dinner party theme ideas.
